I am the oldest in a crazy, chaotic family of six. We moved all over the country when I was growing up -- Minnesota to St. Louis to Italy to Maine to Texas. I graduated from Harvard University with a Magna cum Laude in History and Literature. After college I worked for Macmillan Publishing in New York, where I wrote copy for yearly encyclopedia updates (thrilling!). I loved New York, but wanted to try something different. That turned out to be living on a fishing island in Maine called Monhegan. To fill the long winter nights, I began writing screenplays with my college roommate. And so my writing career began.
I soon moved to Portland, Maine, and began working as a news promo writer for the CBS affiliate. Promo producing was a blast, and I quickly moved on to bigger markets – Philadelphia and then Los Angeles. For quite a few years I lived in Los Angeles, working at the NBC affiliate, moving up the promo career ladder and writing screenplays and short stories on the side. I’ve published short stories in the magazines Lynx Eye and Timber Creek Review. Inleaf Press published my story “The Olympics of Ordinary Movements,” which was made into a short film by Ananda Media.
In December 2006 I started my first romance novel. Right away, I knew I'd found my true writing love. Around the same time, I had the opportunity to move to Alaska. I joined the local chapter of RWA and began learning the ins and outs of the romance business and honing my craft. In November 2009 I signed with the fabulous Alexandra Machinist of the Linda Chester Literary Agency.
I now live in Homer, Alaska, with my
fiance. Besides reading, writing and living romance, another big passion in my life is Ashtanga yoga. I practice daily, and have traveled to Thailand, India and Hawaii to learn from the best teachers on the planet. Other than that, I love hiking, meditating, hazelnut chocolate, the children I am graced to have in my life, my crazy, chaotic family, and traveling any chance I get.
